The “Phantoms of the Mythic Beasts” collection is an exclusive creation for VIVIDAION by independent designer Huang Meng, inspired by the traditional tile cat motifs of Yunnan. Through miniature ceramic sculpture and experimental glaze techniques, he reinterprets this ancient symbol of protection into wearable amulets.
The eyes of the WaMao (tile cat) are quiet — watching over the balance within the human heart.Huang Meng reinterprets traditional symbols through handcrafted ceramics. Whether worn or displayed, each piece offers an intimate dialogue with art, protecting both your life and your wishes.

Each of our pieces is handmade and kiln-fired. Although slight size variations are inherent to the process, the difference will not exceed 15 mm.

Huang Meng, independent designer, ceramic artist, and lecturer at the School of Art and Design of Yunnan Normal University, focuses on contemporary design using ceramics and traditional craftsmanship as his medium. Through both teaching and practice, he continuously explores the “warmth of handmade” and the “life within materials.”
The “Phantoms of the Mythic Beasts” series, his first signed collaboration with VIVIDAION, transforms traditional Tile Cats into contemporary talismans, blending spirituality, craftsmanship, and wearable beauty.
